In this little cabin, in Banff, I was alone, dropped suddenly in a quiet space that starkly contrasted the turbulent chaos that was my teaching life, just a few days prior. The experience was not as relaxing as it sounds, but really strange and intimidating. They say all of the world’s problems can be solved by people learning to sit alone in a room with their thoughts - well, send them all to Banff !
I always have a steady rerun of Tolstoy going. Also, nothing like reading a banned book circa 1890 by a man that Theodore Roosevelt called a "sexual moral pervert." 😂😂😂
